3- How to write text directly on the floor plan.

The Scene Editor program do not permit to write any text directly on the floor plan.  However, we can use any simple object and set the contents of its Name Text Box (up to 20 characters) to the text we want to write on the floor plan.  We also select its Invisible Button to be sure that this object will not appear in the 3D perspective.  Finally we adjust the width and depth of the object to get the desired 2D box dimensions.  The height of the object can be set to anything because it is not used.

In the examples below, we have chosen simple objects of wall type because they are displayed with a light color.  You can choose any other simple object type you want.

Screen shot of the floor plan in the Scene Editor program :

t.gif (141 bytes) tr.gif (162 bytes)
l.gif (142 bytes)
r.gif (145 bytes)
bl.gif (163 bytes) b.gif (145 bytes) br.gif (165 bytes)

Bottom Left : "Simple Text in a Box" is a simple wall object of 36 x 96 x 6 (inch).  It is easy to change the text and move this object since its 2D surface is big enough.

Bottom Center : "Simple Text & Line" is a simple wall object of 32 x 96 x 1/32 (inch).  When you want to change the text or move this object, you need to set the zoom to a very high value to be able to click inside the object 2D surface.

Bottom Right : "Simple Text & Dot" is a simple wall object of 1/32 x 96 x 1/32 (inch).  When you want to change the text or move this object, you need to set the zoom to a very high value to be able to click inside the object 2D surface.

Top Center : It is a composite object made of many simple wall objects.  Very useful when you often write the same kind of information to identify your floor plan printouts.  You add this composite object to the floor plan the same way you add any other group-object.  Then you modify the appropriated texts.
